What I'm trying to say is, sometimes you just have to accept whatever that happened to you because there are always two sides of everything. Sometimes you may not like it, but maybe it's God's plan for you. Maybe it's His way of saying He disapproves of whatever you've done beforehand. Maybe He's giving you what's best for your future.
When you're doing something, that you do not feel right doing it, and you know that it's not right, but you do it anyways because it provides you with what you need, you know you can never get satisfaction out of that thing and you will never feel at peace with yourself for doing it. You tend to hesitate if you should continue or angkat kaki as quickly as you can.
Sometimes, when that happens, you keep on saying "This is just temporary, it's only for a while", but your heart screams "This is wrong!". At that juncture, divine intervention may step in without you even realising it. The answer will come in a way that you may not have expected it and may be a hard pill to swallow, but it's the Heaven's way of saying "You hesitated for too long, this is how you should stop continuing from doing the wrong thing, and this part here, is your punishment for staying for too long on the erroneous path". Or something like that.
To borrow a line from Evan Almighty, when you ask for patience, do you think God will give you patience, or the opportunity to be patient? If you ask for courage, does God give you courage or a chance to be courageous? So if you pray Allahummarzuqni rizqan halalan toyyiban (Dear God, provide me with sustenance that is from Halal and good resources), does God deliver food to your doorstep, or does He provide you with an opportunity to obtain such provisions?
