Bank khinzir

When was the last time you had a piggy bank? When was the last time you had a piggy bank that was full to the brim that you can't even insert a five sen coin anymore? When was the last time that you actually spent time counting and stacking rows of coins?

I know that during for the 4 years that I spent in France, never once have I had a piggy bank. Because there was never a need for one. If it's not for laundry, then it's for that time of the month. You know... when you have spent all you scholarship money and yet the next installment has yet to sneak into your bank account. The time when you search every nook and corner of your house for every single penny that you have left so that you can round it up to buy some bread, milk and eggs? Euro coins are minted in each member countries. Each country has its own unique reverse design (just like each US state has its own design for the American quarter). So, for those who are fascinated by currency, like me, we would have an album to collect the coins from different countries. Honestly, I never got the chance to fill the album up. The pieces somehow found mysterious ways to crawl back to my pocket.

What I'm trying to say here is, after that whole paragraph, when I was done counting my coins (it was more than RM 200 mind you), I realised that, there are more 20 cents coins in circulation as compared to other coin denominations. It's strange, but definitely true. But why?
