In 1974, during the presidential debate, Valerie Giscard d'Estaing said this simple line to Francois Mitterrand
You're a man of the past. It's just impossible to talk about the future with you.And VGE won the elections.
Mitterrand got his chance to make a come back in 1981 when he said
And he won the elections.
7 years ago, you told me that I was a man of the past. But during that same period, you sir, have become a man of the passive yourself.
I know that I am a man of the past. But unfortunately, I am also a man of the passive. I like to dwell in what has happened, and what might have been, and yet, I do not do anything about it to change things.
But I am currently at this juncture of my life where I really need to plan for my future. There's no more daddys or mummys (to quote Din Beramboi haha) to plan out what I should do with my life. Therefore it's really important to let go of the past and move on. But saying it is much more easier than done.
I have some sort of an addiction to dwell in the past. It gives me comfort and makes me happy when I compare it to now. But sometimes, thinking too much of the past can be hurtful, especially when you started to think of all the things that you shouldn't have done, or even worse, what you should've done. Because those were the times when everything was still possible. To undo it is impossible, and to do it now would be a little too late.
And as Susan Boyle beautifully put it in her performance, "Then I was young and unafraid, when dreams were made and used and wasted".
A friend once told me "You know why you're unhappy? Because you don't live in the now. You like to lose yourself in the past, but you also keep thinking too much about the future. It's like driving a car, but you keep on thinking whether you've locked your house before you left, and you're obsessed whether you will arrive safely to your destination. And while your thoughts are drifting on these two things, you fail to realise that you'are about to hit a truck in front of you where if you do hit the truck, none of the two things would matter anymore."
As of today. My new mantra would be 'Let it go. Move on'

thanx kim.
one valuable thing i've learned from this post,
to win the presidential election in France, u need to have a good line of criticism to attack ur opponent. just a simple line would do, but it has to be deadly
note to self: pack for France.
dont worry kim, kalo ak jd president, ak amik ko jd penasihat. jadi laa kn... at least ade la gak name ko dlm biography aku nanti
kim kalo betul ko bleh perform cam susan boyle, turn aku lak meroyan kim!! guling2 hentak kaki sambil meraung2 "tidaakkk!! dusta!! dusta!!"
kau jangan pandang enteng. kalau kocok-kocok aku boleh buat, susan boyle ni kacang je
ko x bajet ke utk susan boyle tu, kocok2 tu ujung jari die jer??
