I was told to be there between 8.30 to 9. But since I didn't know how much time was needed to get there, I ended up arriving at 8. I waited in my car until 8.30 with a full bladder, but I only got out at 8.45. I was too nervous to get out. Haha. Basically I help my seniors with all the basic calculations and stuff.
I guess my first day was OK. Especially after considering the stories of my fellow new joiners. My seniors were very kind. They let me go at 5pm (which came as a pleasant surprise since I expected to go back at 7). They even found out where the surau was for me (not that I wouldn't ask around myself had they not asked for me).
So far, I guess, so good. But today was just the first day. I only have 1459 more days to go.

I just realised something. The police has its own TV series. So does the lawyers, soldiers, doctors, prisoners, heck even housewives have one. But I have never came across a TV series about accountants, and I can't help to wonder why? I mean, even the jobs that you don't really expect a TV series can be made out of it manage to have supporting roles in these series like the nerdy computer technicians or the dry engineer who always help the police or some secret agency when they encounter a brick wall. But never an accountant. Imagine this:
"Quick Horatio, we have a murder in downtown Miami" says a policeman in CSI
"Hold it! Now don't forget the receipt when you park there. Or else you'll never get to claim your expenses" says a hunky accountant.
or even
"Quick we need to buy a gun. The cops are on our trail" says Michael who just broke out of prison with his brother, Lincoln.
"Hang on a sec, we've been spending too much on firearms, we've exceeded our budget for this quarter. Maybe we'll buy one in the next quarter" says Lincoln who happens to be an accountant by profession (who cares if it's not true).
Are we THAT boring?

well... about accountants eh,
quoting Roxy from Army Wives: "You know the difference between a lawyer and an accountant? An accountant knows he's boring "
