Bilela nak cuti ni

The typo that may cost you your marriage, or even worse, your life.

Am in Florida holidaying with the wife. Wish you were her.

Along, if students look forward to their next school break, orang kerja look forward to what ek?
Dapat gaji la

Great. Now I'm dangling between both worlds. I don't have my summer holidays to look forward to, nor do I have a payday to celebrate. The only forward thing that I'm looking at nowadays is the oil's forward rates, which is no fun at all.

Basically my current work is to read up on FRS 139 Financial Instrument, Recognition and Measurement, or more specifically on the application of FRS 139 Financial Instrument, Recognition and Measurement on hedge accounting, brief up my superiors on that subject, and present my suggestions on how to implement the infamous FRS 139 Financial Instrument, Recognition and Measurement to the auditors. Sure, it sounds easy. But I've spent the last three weeks trying to figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do.

I did exactly what Homer did when he wanted to help Barney's uncle's Bowlorama. He began reading 'Advanced Marketing', then 'Marketing for beginners' and finally Webster's dictionary to find the meaning of the word 'Marketing'.

I started big and read 'Hedge Accounting' straight away. Then I began to google 'What is hedge accounting', and found out that it's 'accounting for hedging'. The I searched 'What is hedging', it turned out that it means 'to hedge a derivative'. What the heck is a derivative then? 'It's a product derived from a financial instrument'. What is a financial instrument, you might ask. I asked the same thing too. It goes on and on and on until I found myself asking 'What are accounts payable', which is worrying since it's one of the basics of bookkeeping.

Finally after days of reading, rereading, googling, dreaming, thinking, fantasizing on hedge accountings, I finally grasped SOME of it and it was enough for me to start working on my presentation paper.

Today, I was asked to brief up my supervisors. I swear that I could've spoken in Nepalese or even Swahili and they would give the same reaction. Understanding FRS 139 Financial Instrument, Recognition and Measurement is one thing, explaining to someone else so that he could understand FRS 139 Financial Instrument, Recognition and Measurement, is a whole new celestial object. And the fact that some told me that 'Alah, even auditors pun are still in the dark on this', makes me want to go 'Enggaaaaaak' even more.
